Established in Edmonton in 1959 by the late Andy Jankovic, J&J Electric Ltd. is considered to be one of the most respected electrical contractors in the Edmonton area \u2013 a reliable, professional industrial and commercial electrical contracting company. Carrying on the tradition of quality electrical contracting, the company is now spearheaded by Andy\u2019s son Mark. Providing over 48 years of quality workmanship is what makes J&J Electric the choice of many customers. History<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There are a lot of family-owned companies in Edmonton, but few actually feel as much like a family as J & J Electric Ltd. It\u2019s next to impossible to step into the J & J offices without sensing the genuine camaraderie and mutual respect in the casual banter among president Mark Jankovic, general manager and right hand-man Robin Stefura, project manager Art Lussier, chief estimator Tom Culo and office manager Tina Mitchell. They wouldn\u2019t have it any other way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s especially unusual to find such a strong feeling of cohesion and purpose in a company celebrating its 55th year of success, but J & J Electric isn\u2019t your average company. \u201cWe\u2019ve always had the opportunity to grow,\u201d Mark says, \u201cbut I don\u2019t think it\u2019s ever really been a goal. The thing is to do the job correctly, and growth comes. We\u2019re growing all the time. It takes a good team to do that. We are that team. I know that my company\u2019s only as good as the people who work for me.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This humble, both-feet-on-the-ground approach to business has been an integral part of the J & J Electric story right from the very beginning, thanks in large part to the man who put the first \u2018J\u2019 in the company name: Andy Jankovic. \u201cMy dad started the company in \u201859 with a man named George Jaroch,\u201d Mark says (when his partner left a few years later, Andy decided to keep both J\u2019s in the name). Back then, J & J Electric did residential, commercial and industrial work, from installation to material supply to maintenance, much as they do now. <\/p>\n\n\n
